Words that sparkle, fizz and fly

Rhyme & Reason is all about children and poetry: books full of rhythm to read aloud, lively workshops that get whole classes writing, and a place to share the poems they create.

Three ways to play with words

Why poetry?

Rhyme gives children the reason to listen, and poems give them the reason to write.

Poems are short, musical and full of surprises. They are one of the easiest ways into reading aloud, and one of the most rewarding ways to start writing — no child needs to fill a page to create something they are proud of.

VocabularyNew words, and new ways to use them.
